What to know
- Almost nothing disinfects through organic matter. Clean first, then disinfect — a dirty surface sprayed with disinfectant is still a dirty surface.
- Footbaths need changing, not topping up. A saturated bath is a reservoir, not a barrier.
- Rotating disinfectant classes between cycles is common practice.
- The cheapest intervention on any farm, and the first one dropped when time is short.
